WEL-PAC Edamame

Edamame has always been a popular item among Japanese restaurants and at home. Low in fat and high in protein, Edamame is often used as a meat substitute by those who are watching their weight. Studies have also indicated that consumption of Edamame protein, as compared to other proteins from milk or meat, has been proven to lower cholesterol level. Welpac Edamame is easy to prepare, and its snack-like qualities provides for an attractive alternative to unhealthy junk food, like chips or popcorn.

Mediterranean Salad

  • Ingredients:
  • 2 qts. torn romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup thinly sliced cucumber
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 3 oz. feta cheese, crumbled (about 3/4 cup)
  • 3/4 cup cooked, shelled, cooled Edamame
  • 1/2 cup red onion slivers
  • 1/4 cup Marukan Seasoned Gourmet Rice Vinegar Lite Dressing
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano, crumbled
  • 1/8 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder

  • Instructions:
  • Combine in large bowl. Toss and serve. Makes 4 servings.
